Frequency Blur

The Frequency Blur plugin applies blurring to an image in Fourier space. This allows arbitrarily shaped blurring kernels and processing speeds that are independent of the blur size.

Overview

The image is blurred using either an internally or user-defined blur kernel. The internal blur kernel support disc, hexagon, gaussian, and airy disk shaped kernels. In addition, the disc and hexagon kernels support bad bokeh (dark center with bright border) effects. The plugin supports both convolution (blur) and deconvolution (sharpen) of an image using the defined kernel.

Inputs

  • Apply the mask as a convolution or deconvolution
  • Handle edges using a duplicating, wrapping, or black edge policy
  • Generate the mask internally using the disk, hex, gaussian, or airy disk style
  • Adjust internal kernel parameters using the bad bokeh and kernel angle
  • Use the plugins second input to add a user-defined kernel
  • Adjust the blur size to increase the size of either the internal or user-defined kernel
