Lens Distort 2
The Lens Distort 2 plugin applies or removes first and second order radial distortion created by a camera lens.
Overview
This plugin adds or removes lens distortion from a image using a more complex lens model than the first lens distort tool. This tool includes both first and second order radial distortion, as well as the lens center. Unlike the previous tool, the Lens Disort 2 plugin has a per channel distortion removal that allows the artist to remove chromatic abberations from the image. The lens parameters can be imported from the Grid Calibration tool using a calibration file.
Inputs
- Apply or remove lens distortion from an image, or remove only chromatic abberations.
- Remove first and second order radial distortion. Second order distortion becomes a problem when an image has a large field of view.
- Use per channels distortion settings to tune the removal of chromatic abberations.
- Load data from the Grid Calibration plugin to remove distortion using preset values.
Results
Calibration grid used to generate distortion information. Second order radial distortion is visible in the image by observing that the grid lines start straight in the middle of the image, bend inward, and then go straight again at the edge of the image. The straight lines at the edge of the image are due to second order radial distortion.
