Submitting 3dsmax Jobs From The Monitor

Step 1: Open the Submission Dialog
In the Deadline Monitor, open the 3dsmax Submission Dialog from the Submit menu.
Step 2: Set Your Submission Options
The general Deadline options are:
- Name: The name of your job (if left blank, it will default to "Untitled").
- Comment: A simple description of your job (can be left blank).
- Department: Your department (can be left blank).
- Category: The category the job belongs to (default is "None").
- Pool: The pool that your job is submitted to.
- Use Machines In Pool Only: Only the machines in the specified pool will render your job.
- Priority: Your job's priority (0 = lowest, 100 = highest).
- Machine Limit: The maximum number of machines that can render your job at one time (specify 0 for no limit).
- Task Timeout: The number of minutes a slave has to render a task for this job before it requeues it (specify 0 for no limit).
- Limit Groups: The limit groups that your job requires.
- Job Dependencies: Jobs that your job is dependent on.
- Submit As Suspended: Submit your job in the suspended state.
- Delete When Complete: You job is automatically deleted after it completes.
The 3dsmax specific options are:
- 3dsmax File: The 3dsmax file to be rendered.
- Version: The version of 3dsmax to render with.
- Build: For 3dsmax 9, force 32 bit or 64 bit rendering.
- Frame List: The list of frames to render.
- Task Group Size: The number of frames per task.
- Use Custom Plugin.ini: Specify an alternative plugin.ini file to use during rendering.
- Fail On Black Frames: You can configure Deadline to fail the render if the output images are black.
- Force 3dsmax Workstation Mode: 3dsmax will start in workstation mode during rendering.
- Restart 3dsmax Between Frames: Any memory that 3dsmax is using will free up between tasks.
- Show Frame Buffer When Rendering: Enable the virtual frame buffer during rendering.
- Remove Padding #'s From Output File: Only use this feature when rendering single frame jobs.
Step 3: Submit Your Job
Click the Submit button to submit the job to Deadline.
