Licensing
Krakatoa uses FLEXnet licensing by Macrovision to manage its licenses.
- Krakatoa can use node-locked licenses, which only work on a single system, or floating licenses, which require a license server to be set up.
- The first time you run Krakatoa, the FLEXlm License Finder will guide you through selecting your Krakatoa license.
- Before proceeding, you must have obtained a Krakatoa license from Frantic Films and, in the case of a Server license, set up your FLEXlm license server.
- Node-locked licenses can be used directly without any server configuration.
- Krakatoa will run in an evaluation mode if no license has been installed. The evaluation mode is full-featured except for these limitations:
- A watermark will be placed on top of the render output.
- Rendering and saving particles on the network will be disabled. (Saving PRT sequences and Partitions locally would be allowed though)
