Biography – Lynne Skromeda, Vice President And Producer
As Vice-President and Producer, Lynne Skromeda oversees the Live Action division of Frantic Films including all projects from concept to completion. She also manages Frantic's distribution and is involved with all the division's financial and corporate affairs.
Skromeda's production experience began with Credo Entertainment where she worked on the documentary series, Pioneer Quest: A Year in the Real West, one of the highest-rated documentaries ever broadcast on a Canadian specialty channel. Skromeda was instrumental in bringing more award-winning living-history documentary series to life – Quest for the Bay (the highest-rated series for History Television in 2001), Klondike: The Quest for Gold, Quest for the Sea, Bomber Boys: The Fighting Lancaster and the latest audience favourite, Devil's Brigade.
Other producing credits include the CTV MOW Zeyda and the Hitman, starring Judd Hirsch, and Danny Aiello, History Television documentary Ken Leishman: The Flying Bandit, lifestyle series Last Chance for Romance (Global Television) and Kitchen Crimes (Food Network).
Recently, Skromeda produced the popular series Guinea Pig, which follows professional daredevil Ryan Stock as he pushes the limits of the human experience (Discovery Channel Canada and Sci Fi Channel in the US); Breakbound, a 2 x 1-hour documentary about a Canadian man risking it all to become a professional surfer in Ecuador; and Music Rising, a one-hour, award-winning documentary about the charitable efforts to bring music back to the city of New Orleans, for CTV, which later aired on the Sundance Channel.
In addition to her production work, Skromeda is a board and executive committee member of the Manitoba Motion Picture Industry Association and also sits on the Policy and Marketing Committees. She is a member of the Documentary Organization of Canada and is also on the board of the West End Cultural Centre where she sits on the Strategic Planning, Programming and Marketing Committees.
