Biography – Scott McCulloch, Research and Development Manager

Scott McCulloch

Working alongside a diverse team of gear heads, mathematicians and computer gurus, Scott oversees the day-to-day operations of the research and development department.  His responsibilities include the commercialization of new tools and technology, building key relationships with leading academic researchers and government development partners, and encouraging growth in the division’s revenues and personnel.

Scott has been instrumental in marketing and developing the industry-level growth of Deadline, Frantic’s proprietary render farm management software. In addition, he is spearheading the commercialization efforts for Krakatoa, Amaretto and Flood: Surf . In 2006, Scott was responsible for orchestrating Frantic’s first trade show presence at the annual SIGGRAPH conference in Boston.  The move was a major step forward for Frantic commercially, and furthered the philosophy of open dialogue amongst industry professionals.

Scott is actively involved with recruiting the best and brightest minds in the industry for Frantic’s R&D team.  Behind the scenes, he coordinates development schedules and assists developers in setting R&D priorities.

Prior to joining Frantic in 2005, Scott graduated from the University of Manitoba's I.H. Asper School of Business with a Bachelor of Commerce degree (honours), majoring in marketing and finance. Rising to the daily challenges of the R&D department’s fast-paced environment, Scott truly enjoys working with one of the most diverse teams of technical minds on the planet.
